Jonathan Wertz (BJJ Black Belt)
Jonathan received his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in November of 2004, after 6 years. He is Gustavo Machado's, a 2nd degree Black Belt under Roberto 'Gordo" Correa, first student in the United States.
Jonathan is a 2002 Pan-American Silver Medalist, 2000 Pro-Am Silver Medalist and a 2002 VABJJF Gold Medalist.
Jonathan is foremost a wonderful father and husband. He is also a brilliant martial artist who loves the art of Jiu-Jitsu and has a great desire to pass his knowledge and skills on to his students.

Jim Howard (BJJ Brown Belt)
Jim is co-owner and most importantly a BJJ Brown belt under Mike O'donnell, Carlson Gracie Black Belt, from Lexington, KY. Jim is currently assigned to a SEAL Team in Virginia Beach and will be an assistant instructor at Tidewater Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy.
Jim won a silver medal at the United Gracie BJJ Tournament in 2002 after only training 5 months. He received his Blue Belt from Charles Gracie after only 6 months of training and won his first Mixed Martial Arts competition in September 2006 at the Kentucky Fighting Challenge. Since January 2008, Jim has won a gold medal at Gustavo Machado's Invitational and took home a Gold and Silver at the 2008 NAGA Virginia tournament. |
