Tidewater Jiu-Jtsu Academy's instructors.   Ryan is our first student in the big kids class to receive his yellow belt at the academy. He began his training at the main academy and continues to be the one to beat.

Teen participation is extremely high at TBJJA.  They are the future champions of the sport.

One of TBJJA's major achievements is how well our students did at both NAGA tournments this year.  Most of our students are new to jiu-jitsu when they join our academy, but you would not know that by the amount of medals, swords and belts won at the tournaments. We cleaned house in September (pic on right) in most of the divisions.  Swords were given for first place and the belt was for the absolute advanced division.

Our kids' classes are TBJJA's shining stars!  Two of our little kids (ages 5) are working towards their 4th stripe and give even some of the big kids a run for their money.  Our big kids class (ages 7-12) has grown tremendously over the last year with the help of our curriculum that makes them EARN their stripes by way of technique testing each quarter.  Each child has made leaps and bounds in their jiu-jitsu skills and parents have commented on how it has helped their child's self-esteem and discipline outside of class.
